![]() ![]() This allows you to run any application that runs on the supported guest operating systems, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Apache Web Server, Microsoft Visual Studio. I wish there had been someone out there to hold my hand through this (and maybe even to suggest that I try uninstalling and reinstalling the program), but I guess I got what I paid for (little advice for free). VMware Workstation Pro is the equivalent of a full PC, with full networking and devices each virtual machine has its own CPU, memory, disks, I/O devices, etc. You may have to try the install a couple of times before it works. I would say about 30 of the time, when the virtual machine is launched, the integration features don't get enabled (the settings are set to enable integration features at startup). I am running Win7 64 bit and have several Windows XP SP3 VM's. Open the Virtual Machine Application on the host system. Fix: Open XP Mode settings, disable integration features, login with this no-password account, open XP Mode Control Panel > Users, add a password and re-enable integration features. Problem is solved, and I would suggest that the rest of you out there try uninstalling and reinstalling XP Mode to see if it fixes anything. I have the same issue, though not as bad. When integration is enabled, you have to use a password XP Mode can not log you in if the account has no password. I "attached" my printer on the USB menu and waited awhile, and it searched for and found drivers for my printer, which is all I ever wanted it to do in the first place. Guess what? This time it worked, and Integration Components are enabled. So as a last resort, I uninstalled XP Mode, rebooted, and installed We recommended that you install this update because some integration features might not work correctly if the Integration Components package in the guest operating system do not match the version. ![]() I also tried to get help from Dell, but they aren't responding either. The Microsoft update associated with article KB977206 enables Windows XP Mode for computers without hardware-assisted virtualization (HAV) technology. I've waited a week for a reply from the gurus on this thread, and they aren't responding. ![]()
